Eight new translation contracts with the European Parliament

Amplexor, an Acolad company started 2020 with another winning streak. The European Parliament’s Directorate-General for Translation (DGT) awarded eight translation contracts to Amplexor – three lots as main supplier (Dutch, Italian, and Latvian) and five more as an alternate supplier. Just a few weeks before, Amplexor had also won another tender procedure for the EP as main translation partner for Spanish and Polish.

Fifty translation partners were selected to work with the EP, from a total of 186 tenders received. The total contract awarded amounts to €63 million, over the course of two years. The DGT is responsible for ensuring the Parliament's documents are available in all the 24 official languages of the European Union.

Just last summer, we won another major contract with the European Parliament, to develop and implement an electronic records management system (ERMS), in partnership with OpenText. The project is such a strategic initiative for all parties involved, that it was even highlighted by Opentext during its quarterly report to investors worldwide.

Early last year, Amplexor had also been awarded a new contract with the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CONNECT), and a couple of years earlier, our contract with European Commission’s DG Growth was renewed for the third time in a row. But we’ve also partnered with several public institutions to launch their online presence. The content platform we developed for the Province of Limburg, in Belgium, even won the prestigious Europa Nostra Award, considered the highest honor in the cultural heritage field.
